Inaugurating the JSS Public School at HSR Layout on Thursday, Kalam interacted with students, narrated stories as well as made them take an oath to lead an honest life, free from corruption.
“Having a small aim in life is a crime. We need to work with integrity. It’s important to achieve success with integrity,” Kalam said.
Speaking on ‘What milestone will I create in my journey of life’, Kalam said: “To be successful four important principles are – have an aim in life, acquire knowledge, work hard, have perseverance and learn to manage time.”
Dr Kalam emphasized that each individual should plant 10 saplings to achieve a target of having 10 billion new trees by 2015.
Encouraging youngsters to inculcate the habit of reading, the former President advised students to have a home library.

At Last some peace comes to our Neighborhood as the Traffic Police have canceled the one way rule for 27th main and 10th cross, also they have unblocked all the connecting roads where they had dumped the debris to restrict the vehicle movement. Now no need to worry about getting into any road. The traffic has been reduced to a great extent and now HSRians can feel little bit safer while crossing the roads!
The Road widening work which had been stopped due to BBMP ELections have been resumed and many roads mainly 27th Main and part of 19th Main etc are being widened up.
There is no better word to call these Junctions of HSR Layout for what they have become, where accidents and collisions have become regular , few days ago an Innova turned turtle at 19th Main and 17th Cross Junction, and today an i10 collided with an Estillo car at 19th Main and Club Road Junction. Thankfully no deaths have taken place except for minor injuries, but do we need to wait until then?. The Authorities needs to build Speed Breakers at all these junction and install “Round About Island” specially at 19th Main and 17th Cross Junction which is very wide and creates lot of confusion among the drivers.
At last some relief coming in , as one side of Agara Flyover leading towards Martahalli from Silk board has been opened for public use, now the authorities are looking at speeding up the other flyover too, however the one way roads in HSR Layout has not been changed yet, here is a Video of this Flyover,

People in Bangalore have been known to use several novel methods to keep their neighborhood clean, but residents of HSR Layout have come up with a rather simple way to deal with trash offenders: they go and have a polite conversation with them.
The idea, said R S Hiremath, president, HSR Layout Sector 2 Residents’ Welfare Association, is not to reason with those who dump garbage in someone else’s yard but to understand them. “We want to know their psychology,” he told Bangalore Mirror. HSR Layout Residents Association, 2nd Sector met for the Annual General Body Meeting for nearly three hours on June 6th at New Extension Cambridge Public School. The first part was a review of the activities of the association during the preceding year. The second part was the interaction of residents with the civic officials from BBMP, BDA, BWSSB, BMTC, and Police department. We had requested these organisations to depute senior officials and engineers to interact with residents and give suitable responses to the queries.
Unfortunately barring a few, civic agencies were represented by junior staff who showed helplessness in answering our queries. KPTCL and BESCOM representatives were absent; we were most disappointed. The local corporator Latha Narasimhamurthy was present through out the meeting.
Officebearers of the Association: The new President is R S Hiremath. and Vice -President Purushotham. Channakeshava A is the Secretary. Brig Murthy will support the association as an advisor.

The muggers prowling the stretch of Ring Road near HSR Layout appear to have shifted to the road connecting Electronics City with Bannerghatta Road, which runs parallel to the NICE corridor.
Commuters are taking the road parallel to NICE Road (above) connecting Hosur Road and Bannerghatta Road fearing blockades by protesters.
Motorists have been using this road since the NICE corridor has been blocked by villagers protesting over some issue. But, in the last three days, techies and corporate executives have complained of muggings on the road.
The latest attack was reported on Wednesday by a techie of Wipro Technologies who was attacked by a few men late in the afternoon on a deserted stretch. The techie had used the road connecting the back gate of Wipro Technologies and Bannerghata Road.
Following several such incidents, cautionary messages have begun appearing on the web and community group sites alerting other techies and advising them to either avoid the stretch or be careful while using it. Continue reading From HSR Muggers Shift near NICE Road
They unanimously demanded a clean layout and asked their corporator to look into the garbage problem.
At the resident welfare association (RWA) meeting of HSR Layout on Sunday, members put forth their demands to corporator Latha Narasimha Murthy.
R S Hiremath, who was elected president of HSR RWA, said garbage disposal is a major issue plaguing the layout. “The corporator has promised to look into the issue,” he said. Officials from BBMP and BDA also attended the meeting.
Former HSR RWA president Brigadier R S Murthy said Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTC) dug up the road long ago but is yet to repair it. “We had asked KPTC officers to attend the RWA meet but none came. This is very disappointing. Civic authorities shouldn’t just dig up the road and leave it like that. Now, it’s raining every other day, posing a danger to residents,” he pointed out.
