Darshini Opened at HSR Layout-Swasthik

Swasthik Veg

Last Week a New Self Service Fast Food Joint was inaugurated at HSR Layout 2nd Sector, on 19th Main, aptly named as “Swasthik”. This is not a Huge one like Krishna Sagar, but can be put under SLV’s category with Serving area of about 500 Sq.ft and about 5 Tables(each 4 people capacity). The food served is 100% vegetarian with normal Idli, Dosa and other south Indian meals with Roti Curry and fried rice etc. It also has Fresh Ice Creams and Chats offered on evenings.

By Darshini we mean a Self Service fast food Joint, where one has to finish his lunch standing itself!, but this one has an edge over almost all other Darshini’s opened so far in HSR Layout. Beside standing tables Swasthik has 2 Dining Table’s where one can sit.

19th Main is the hottest upcoming commercial road specially the area where this hotel is located Imagine there are about 700 Families living here in number of Apartments using this road to travel every day.

Have you visited “Swasthik” share your experience with us.

Residents Voice:Not a drip of water for the past 2 months

Dry Taps?

Wishing you a happy and joyous Deepavali , We would like to start a new Section called “Residents Voice” where we will post your thoughts, problems, Suggestions to make HSR Layout a better place to live.
Here is our first mail that we recieved from Mr.Ramkumar

Dear Sir,

I live in HSR layout second sector . Residents in 25th C Cross , 27th Main are facing huge water problems for the past 2 months. Around 20 houses which are on an elevation in this street have not received water for the past 2 months. We have to go to the BWSSB office at HSR layout every time and make a complaint. After that we get tankers. Every time we get an answer that pressure is not there. Isn’t it important to find out the cause and rectify the same ? This is creating lot of inconvenience for us. It is very frustrating to see that the residents who are in the low lying areas in the same street get good water but we don’t . It is much more frustrating to see that so much of water is being used for construction whereas we have to struggle for our basic needs. In spite of all these difficulties we promptly get our monthly bills with reading “ No draw” ?????? I request your help in resolving this issue at the earliest.

regards,

Ramkumar

Chain Snatching incidents at HSR-Police on Alert

Source:The Hindu (Mockup Image)

The sudden spells of darkness engulfing the layout, courtesy the load-shedding , is also one of the main contributory factors for the spurt in chain snatching incidents.

We cant blame all on the power cuts, the commissioner however felt that Bangalore was still a safe city. As far as the specifics of chain snatching incidents were concerned , the culprits are usually young boys around 20-25 years on Bikes. They are targeting those near the Temples and those who are on a evening walk near various parks of HSR Layout, specially 2nd Sector Park near Purva Fairmont and the one on 5th Main Road.

Police in Action Mode:

HSR Layout police is taking no chance in letting these incidents increase any further. To check this crime, they have increased the patrolling around temples, parks and vulnerable areas like, 23rd  cross, 5th main, Hosapalya road, Mangammapalya main road. So don’t be surprised if any Khakhi Cop stops you and asks you to remove your helmet and asks about your address etc, Be polite and answer all there queries they are doing it for our safety. Park used as Dumping Zone in HSR-3

Looks like Park?

The CA Site on 18th Main of HSR Layout-3rd Sector, allotted for the park has been used as a dumping zone by Under Construction Hospital owner. The Hospital is to be constructed on 18th A Main, adjacent to the park Opposite to HSR Club.

Due to the dumping it has hampered the progress of developing the park, for which all approvals and necessary formalities are complete with the BBMP.

Going Back to History this Park was a Stone Quarry, later which turned into a Garbage dumping place, and during monsoon it was a Deep Water Tank, giving a look of Dhobhi Ghat, because nearby Dhobhi’s used this water for washing 100’s of cloths, everyday.

Intel Innovator of Tomorrow in our Neighborhood

Intel Innovators of Tomorrow

Intel Innovators of Tomorrow

15 year old Varun Vasudevan , from Reliable Residency, HSR layout has been selected by Intel as one of the Innovators of tomorrow. Varun is pursuing his 10th Standard from Baldwin Boy’s school, Bangalore. His Idea about wireless power was displayed in Times Of India, all India edition 21st July 2009.

“Wireless Power is a technology that will be able to help most of the people all around the world. The power that is produced never reaches the people who need it the most. With wireless power many villages and cities will receive power without much problems. During transportation of power, many power lines are broken and due to this a lot of energy is wasted. This idea of mine will save a lot of hardship and also facilitate uninterrupted power supply. I want my country, India to be a brighter place to live.”

Service Road will be a Relief for HSR 5th Sector and Teachers Colony

HSR Layout In the Night

BDA has started the work on the Service Road and now it is almost getting completed, the service road on the HSR 5th Sector side which was dug up to lay pipeline about 3 years ago, was halted for unknown reasons, bringing complete death for the Commercial Establishments on this road, not only that because of the bad state of this Road, many empty site owners were unable to construct anything with their sites now you can see many things happening here once this road is completed, also there is a Huge Shopping Mall coming up on this Service Road opposite Fernhill Gardens. This is going to be a prime Commercial hub already there is Reliance fresh, 2 Schools, Sherwin Williams, Aranya Restaurant, Canara Bank and many offices on this Service Road and the advantage is there is no Drainage on this side!!

MK Retail

After serving the neighborhood of Indiranagar for so many years MK Retail has opened a new Mega Store at HSR Layout-2nd Sector.Calling it a Hypermarket is more appropriate than supermarket,As the inventry includes Electronics, Frozen Foods, Appliances, Home Improvement, Garments, Stationaries, beside Fresh Fruits, Vegies, Groceries and lots more.

Now Even Netas wants to live in HSR Layout!

HSR BDA Map Sector 6

A news report published in Times of India, indicates that the politicians who were allotted sites under BDA’s G category intially pleaded for sites  in posh localities like Namma HSR Layout,  HBR Layout, OMBR Layout , Indiranagar and RMV Extn.

I wonder where can we get empty sites in HSR Layout which are not allotted already except for the many odd and corner sites which are kept for Auctions?. Continue reading Now Even Netas wants to live in HSR Layout!

The seven-year old HSR Layout Sector II Residents Association convened their annual general body meeting on 19th of July at Cambridge Public School located in the vicinity.
The meeting was well attended by residents and had a focused agenda. The concerns of the residents included:

Bad Roads & silted/clogged Storm water drains:
a. Blacktopping of all roads and regular clearance of shoulder undergrowth.
b. De-silting of all storm-water drains
c. Proper repair of road cutting.

Garbage clearance
a. Daily clearance of garbage in a proactive manner. There is improvement but a system has to be in place, this will stop the menace of pigs, stray dogs& rodents, reptiles and prevent health problems.
b. Aggressive awareness campaign by BBMP on educating residents through posters, notices and audio visual road shows.
c. Boards at  prominent places instructing  people not to  litter, urinate and  defecate at public places and  vacant sites
d. Educating school-children in the area on the importance of having a clean and healthy environment who, in turn, will educate their families.

Labor Camps
a. Immediate eviction of camps in a coordinated and complete manner.
b. Heavy fines to be levied on owners and contractors who do not provide temporary accommodation/facilities to laborers during construction. Continue reading Concerns of HSR Layout 2nd Sector residents getting addressed
